Action Consommation was founded by members of no-global, solidarity and ecology organisations, to promote ethical consumption as an economic and political tool, and a factor of social transformation.

Through our internet site, specific actions and networking, our aim is to :
 raise awareness of the power and responsibility of consumers as a collective action,
 propose ideas for changing our consumption patterns and behaviors
 suggest means for calling on institutions and companies

Responsible consumption is a collective action comprised of individual initiatives that acts at the junction between microeconomic, macroeconomic, political levels and personal behaviour patterns. It demonstrates and highlights the interdependent ties between consumers, savers, taxpayers, producers and citizens… here or elsewhere.

We believe that the only way to successfully challenge the dominant economic powers and established institutions, and define new ways of organising democracy globally and locally is to get each one to take a stand against the status quo, and liberate ourselves from prior conditioning, while re-examining our own attitudes, constantly guided by the desire to be consistent in our actions and stay true to our ideals.
